That's a HUGE flag! We don't have to tell you that Americana always sells well, but our customers have told us that finding a large USA flag mold has been an impossibility. Not anymore!
Create beautiful and iconic American flags out of epoxy resin, Jesmonite, concrete or even chocolate using this oversized 24x15x1" silicone mold. This mold is designed with separation lines a little over 1/8" wide and 0.2" in depth between each bar of the flag representing the original 13 colonies. The 50 stars are nearly 1/4" in depth.
Creating a finished flag with this mold with multiple colors is a three step process. First fill each of the 13 bars up to 0.2" in depth, then fill the background section behind the stars. The colors are separated from mixing by the raised lines in the mold. After the initial pour has cured, backfill the entire flag with whatever color you chose (or clear resin) to effectively tie all of the components together. Though the mold is 1" deep, you can get away with as little as 1/2" total thickness if you wish to save resin and have a thinner flag. After the second layer has cured, demold the flag from the mold, then backfill the 50 stars with the appropriate color.
Our RSCC line of silicone molds are crafted with artists, makers and bakers in mind. While RSCC stands for resin, soap, candy and chocolate they can also be used with plaster, acrylic resin/Jesonite, concrete and other popular pourable materials.
These are not your run of the mill $10 mass produced and imported molds you'll find on many shopping sites. The custom tooling (blanks) and silicone molds are all made one-by-one, by hand at our facility in Ontario, Canada. We use the highest grade platinum cure silicone, which surpasses the quality and standards of regular food grade silicone. Our silicone is cured with platinum, not peroxide making it safer for use in food and medical applications. We make our molds incredibly thick, to ensure they are self supporting and won't bend or deform when full of your material. Every artist, maker or baker who gets one of our molds immediately acknowledges the quality difference and can justify the cost difference.
Please remember that if you are using silicone molds with epoxy resin or other corrosive or abrasive chemical that you need to use a mold release before pouring your resin. We recommend a non-silicone based release such as the MG Chemicals 8329 or Mann Ease Release 200/300. Using a proper release will extend the life of your mold and help to prevent mold tear-out.
